EPISODE 246: MAURICE BENARD!
Can I still say that I am reeling, in a good way, that I had the chance to speak with Maurice Benard?! Heh, I guess I did! having the privilege to speak with Maurice, he spoke highly of Dominic Zamprogna, who plays the role of Dante, as well as the current storyline. It is amazing to me to hear his excitement besides the fans. For an actor to be that pleased with story, as well as craving for more, you KNOW it is good.
Benard issued some great quotes during the podcast. Here is what he said about what is coming up with the Dante/Sonny storyline:
"During what has been airing this week, it's funny, I was sick as a dog. And it worked for what was going on, you know. And I don't remember because I was so sick, but next week and the week after is some great, great stuff. If you think you've seen something now...the Friday show, the big show where I shot him (Dante), I don't know if you can top that as far as just the drama of it. But, the acting and the writing for the next couple of weeks to month is unreal."
I briefly mentioned that GH was on fire lately, not just with his storyline, in particular, but others surrounding it. Here is a little bit of what he had to say:
"The more people talk, I am hearing the ratings are showing that, and that's what we need...and we got to continue it ALL year round. I know it's tough *chuckles*, but if you can maybe not match this story, but do it at 75%, 70%, people keep going. The problem with soaps is that you do this story and all of sudden it just dies, dies, dies, and people stop. So, you really have to continue it. I know it is difficult, but it has to be done."
We mentioned some tidbits about Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda), as well as if he may/may not submit himself for Lead Actor for the Daytime Emmys. I cannot give too much away, now can I?
